Bob Dylan, one of the most influential songwriters of our time, is set to return to the UK with his Rough and Rowdy Ways 2024 tour. ITB is honoured to announce this leg of the tour, which follows an epic run of shows that began in December 2021 in Milwaukee, spanning hundreds of venues across the US, UK, Europe, and Japan. This leg of the tour will feature 10 very special performances, starting with a return visit to Bournemouth at the Windsor Hall on November 1st and culminating in three highly anticipated nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Known for its historic significance and unforgettable events, the Royal Albert Hall performances promise to be among the most memorable of Dylan's career. Fans can expect a unique concert experience, as the shows are in partnership with Yondr, a company that will prohibit the use of video cameras and mobile phones. This ensures that the focus remains on the music, creating a rare, intimate atmosphere for all attendees. In addition to London, Dylan will return to Edinburgh for the first time since 2009 and make stops in Nottingham and Liverpool. After weeks of praying for clear skies, the sun finally blessed London last night, just in time for Stray Kids’ epic performance at British Summer Time Hyde Park. As the golden evening light bathed the 65,000-strong crowd, the anticipation was palpable. This balmy summer evening was set to be unforgettable, with Stray Kids ready to unleash a storm of sound and energy. Stray Kids, the K-Pop sensation, was the final headliner at American Express presents BST Hyde Park 2024. The eight-member band—Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N—has skyrocketed to fame since their 2017 debut on the South Korean reality show “Stray Kids.” Last night, they made history as the first all-male K-Pop act to headline a major UK festival. Joy rippled through the crowd as a massive red Stray Kids banner unfurled, signaling the start of their set. Bursting onto the Great Oak Stage with “S-Class,” Stray Kids set the tone for a night of electrifying performances, closing out BST Hyde Park’s 2024 season alongside legends like Kings of Leon, SZA, Kylie, Robbie Williams, and Stevie Nicks. The self-producing group curated a dynamic, nearly two-hour setlist that showcased the rockier side of their discography. With electric guitars and a live band, crowd-pleasers like “My Pace,” “TOPLINE,” and “God’s Menu” roared with a heavier sound, while fan favorites “Charmer” and “ITEM” dazzled with their Pac-Man-inspired choreography. HAN and Changbin’s rapid-fire rapping was flawless from the start, maintaining high energy throughout the night. In a standout moment, the live band played a powerful instrumental version of “Lalalala,” filled with crunching rock riffs and ferocious drums. It’s been five years since Stray Kids last performed in the UK at O2 Academy Brixton, a venue that now feels tiny compared to last night’s massive crowd. “Back then, there was some uncertainty—we didn’t know whether we had fans in the UK,” Lee Know admitted backstage. That uncertainty has long vanished, with London fans making their presence felt, bellowing every word and matching Stray Kids’ intense energy throughout the night. Six-strong girl band, NMIXX , wasted no time in getting the audience in the mood for a real British Summer Time party earlier in the afternoon, unleashing their upbeat tunes such as “Dice”, Run For Roses” and “Young, Dumb and Stupid”. “We are so excited to perform our songs in front of you guys,” beamed lead singer, Lily. “Let’s relax and have a lot of fun together.” The group then cranked things up a notch by covering two huge British artists, Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” and Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger”. They ended with two of their most loved numbers, “Moving On” and “Love Me Like This”.

BST Hyde Park’s second day turned up the heat with the sensational SZA headlining the festival and giving fans a sneak peek of her highly anticipated third album. Dropping a teaser video where she morphs into a sexy grasshopper, SZA set the stage on fire, leaving everyone buzzing with excitement. American Express presents BST Hyde Park continued its run with a bang, featuring the dazzling American R&B star SZA. The multi-award-winning artist turned Hyde Park into a lush, vibrant wonderland for her incredible set. SZA gave the crowd everything; “Love Language,” “Broken Clocks,” “All the Stars,” “Drew Barrymore,” “F2F,” “Ghost in the Machine,” “Blind,” “Shirt,” her hit song with Doja Cat, “Kiss Me More,” a cover of Prince's "Kiss," “I Hate U,” “Snooze,” and “Kill Bill, whilst wielding a sword in homage to the Quentin Tarantino classic. There was room for some big announcements too, "New album, you ready?" she asked the crowd before teasing an unreleased song. As she concluded her spectacular set with “20 Something,” she told BST Hyde Park, “Today was my first day performing with the new set. You’re like my second home. I’ll always come back here. You’re the best crowd. I love you. Goodnight!” We were lucky to have Gold Circle access to the concert which comes with separate no-queue entry, private bar and lots of seating area in the shade. The Gold Circle, is the area surrounding the stage on either side and is often the most sought after spot for those looking to be immersed into the musical experience. Earlier on in the day, London independent legend Sampha graced the Great Oak Stage, showcasing his two enigmatic albums, 2017’s Mercury prize winning “Process” and last year’s acclaimed return “Lahai.” The 6 year break only enhanced his legend and the favoured collaborator of Kanye West, Drake, Solange, Beyoncé and Frank Ocean is reminding everyone of his own wondrous music. Snoh Aalegra added her class to the lineup of soulful R&B. The Swedish/Iranian, Grammy nominated singer is a favourite for those in the know, an independent artist who writes songs that run the gamut of every stage of a relationship. From early favourites “Nothing Burns Like the Cold” feat Vince Staples, which samples Portishead, sampling Isaac Hayes, to the brutal but melodic spurn of a lover ‘Nothing To Me’ and torch vocal of “DYING 4 YOUR LOVE,” she has the audience wrapped in her stories from first minute to last. But the Brits also shone in the park today. Two hotly tipped vocalists and songwriters, Elmiene was first on the main stage. The Oxford artist told Esquire this week that his original plan was to move to the desert and become an Islamic scholar, but he has been diverted as one the most talked about singers for 2024. He does 21st century R&B, inspired by 90s neo-soul like D’Angelo and charmed BST Hyde Park with his searing vocal runs and shimmering songs. “You’re sounding beautiful,” he told the audience, “And they say festivals are hard. I don’t know what they’re chatting about. This is the sh*t!” By the time he finished with the hook laden, laid back, ‘Someday’, he had made 1000s of new friends. In a similar vein, Leicester’s Sekou serenaded the sun-kissed crowd on The Rainbow Stage. The ambitious 19 year old grew up singing in church and translated that to a new kind of soul, personified by breakthrough single “Better Man.” “I’m very excited,” he admitted, the line up is insane!” Emerging stars No Guidnce headlined The Rainbow Stage, resurrecting the golden age of R&B. London’s newest prodigal boy band released their first EP Is It A Crime? just last year, after going viral on TikTok and catching the attention of artists like Anderson .Paak, Labrinth and more. Also performing today were hypnotic vocalist Hope Tala who started proceedings, “It’’s my first time here even though I live 20 minutes away,” she said, “Who’s here’s for SZA? I’m so excited, I’ve never seen her live before, we’re going to warm up together.” Pop-star-in-the-making Fabiana Palladino, soulful storyteller Nia Smith, and “hood folk” artist Jessy Blakemore completed a fantastic day of music.
